Matting Removal
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet’s skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations. A+ Mobile Pet Grooming will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to grow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes like hiding, shaking, poor appetite, etc.

Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-6 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time consuming, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. The additional charge will be added on top of the base price of your groom. We will not shave your pet without your consent first and discussing options moving forward.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets
Owners MUST inform the groomer if your pet(s) bite, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles/cones may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer.

The groomer reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge a handling fee for Aggressive Pets in addition to the full regular grooming charge A+ Mobile Pet Grooming has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, A+ Mobile Pet Grooming has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee (for services done up until that point).

Health, Medical Problems, and Senior Pets
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior or ill pet and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, and in styles that will not add to their stress.

In the best interest of your pet your groomer may suggest immediate veterinary care should it be deemed necessary.

Accidents
Although accidents are very rare, there are risks when dealing with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an injury does occurs, you will be notified of the injury. If A+ Mobile Pet Grooming feels that its serious, and the owner is not on-site, A+ Mobile Pet Grooming will seek immediate veterinary care for your animal.

By booking an appointment you provide A+ Mobile Pet Grooming full authorization to seek medical treatment from nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in our care. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

Parasites
Fleas and Ticks are common parasites that are found during the grooming process.

If fleas are found on your pet during the grooming process, we will give your pet the appropriate treatment and the extra cost of the flea treatment will be added to your invoice. This covers additional bathing time (shampoo must sit for 5 minutes to be effective and repeated twice), picking of remaining fleas found after bath, and sterilizing equipment. Note that the flea bath alone will only kill the fleas that are present in your pet’s coat. To prevent the fleas on coming back, you must ask your vet for a flea treatment and also do a deep clean of places your pet likes to spend time. If you have other pets at home, they also have to be treated.

If ticks are found during the grooming process, the tick will be removed, and we will alert you to its presence so that you can take the appropriate follow-up measures. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest you have your pet tested for Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

Cat Grooming
Cat grooming is a highly specialized skill. Cat grooming has more risk involved because even a small bite or scratch can send our groomer to the hospital. Cat bites are more serious as it can cause severe infection that can be life threatening when not addressed immediately. Many groomers will opt out of grooming cats for this reason and that is why there isn’t a lot of cat groomers and why cat grooming is as costly as it is.

A+ Mobile Pet Grooming has the right to refuse or stop the groom at any point if your cat shows signs of aggression or extreme stress and the client will be charged a grooming fee (for what was done up until that point).

Minimum Dispatch Fee
In the event that an appointment is not successful for reasons outside of our control (example: extremely anxious or aggressive pets), and no grooming services are performed. The client will be subject to a minimum dispatch flat fee of $50.

Hold Harmless Agreement
By booking an appointment, you (or your Agent) agree not to hold A+ Mobile Pet Grooming, it’s owners, operators, or employees responsible for any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of your pet, either known or unknown. It is also further understood and agreed that our terms of service can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite all prior terms or releases.

Payment
Payment is due at the end of the grooming appointment. We accept cash, Interac, Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
